Mrs Laksmiati Hanafiah (Indonesia)

As a Board Member of the Indonesian Heart Foundation (IHF), Mrs Laksmiati Hanafiah, known as Mia, has been involved in creating better Cardiovascular Health and Tobacco Control in Indonesia and around the World.

Being the Head of Medical Assistance Department of IHF, Mia was in charge of selecting and assisting children of poor families born with Congenital Heart Disease to undergo corrective surgery since 1981.

Mia is also active in fighting the tobacco industry’s interference in tobacco control policies, one initiative included her being the vice-chair Committee for the 12^th Asia Pacific Conference on Tobacco Control in Bali, September 2018.
